Social Work Major

Dear Dr. Carter,

I am writing to you on behalf of the Carter Scholarship I received. Scholarships such as the Carter Scholarship make it possible for students from low income families, such as myself, to further their education. My childhood has fostered a passion for helping those with mental illnesses. I’m a social work major, and plan on earning my masters and license, and eventually opening my own practice. I have always loved learning and worked hard in school, but funding my college education is very financially hard for my family. Eastern has given me a second home, and a place to grow into myself. I run cross country here, and work in the financial aid office. The “Eastern Experience,” is truly like no other. I am so thankful for the friendships, guidance, and lifelong bands I have made here. Because of you, I am one step closer to making my difference in the world.
