History/Social Science Research Fund+

Grants are primarily used to support a faculty member's research plans for producing a book or other publication. Students may work up to 20 hours per week. Secondarily, grants may be used for travel, the purchase of research materials or to attend conferences.

Selection will be made on the following criteria: (1) availability of funds for that calendar year; (2) feasibility of the research; (3) potential ability of the student to acquire new research methods and skills; (4) timely publication schedule. The professor will try to coordinate or complement his/her research goals with the research projects currently being undertaken by the student.

Interested students should submit a brief statement with a proposed budget request to Professor Thomas Balcerski, History Department, describing the project and the purpose for which the money is requested.

Students are encouraged to file the FAFSA by March 1
