Biography

Derek W. Laux: B.A. Case Western Reserve University; Ph.D. University of Pittsburgh

After his graduate work, Derek was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Edinburgh where he became interested in the intricacies of the tumor microenvironment. His research has focused on the role of innate immune cells in early cancer development. Professor Laux has also served as a visiting assistant professor at Bates College and Washington College. At Eastern, Professor Laux teaches courses in Cell Biology.
