A teacher approaches a child who has been hit in the face with a toy. After checking on the hurt child, the teacher uses English and Spanish to talk with the emergent bilingual child who threw the toy. The teacher explains that the hurt child is sad/triste and provides some words in English that the emergent bilingual child can say to his classmate. When he observes a peer comfort the hurt child, he approaches the hurt child, and they hug each other.
