Mountain building processes, active tectonics, intracontinental deformation in Central Asia, transpressional fault systems and associated basins, restraining bend development, geology of Mongolia and western China, crustal evolution of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt, tectonic history of eastern Connecticut, New England pegmatites, kinematic analysis of rheomorphic ignimbrites and tectonic evolution of southern Snake River Plain region, Idaho, remote sensing methods applied to tectonics research, geological and environmental applications of airborne LiDAR, neotectonics and earthquake hazards in the Julian Alps, structural setting of mineral deposits, structural and geomorphological evolution of the Brazilian Highlands.
