Accepting/Declining Financial Aid

Once you have been awarded financial aid, you may accept or decline the offer by following the steps listed below:

  1. Log in to your Eastern Office 365 account online.
    1. Incoming students: Learn how to activate your Office 365 account
  2. Access "All Apps"
  3. Scroll to the bottom to find the application Self-Service (eWeb)
  4. Click on the Financial Aid Tab.
  5. Click on Title IV Authorization
  6. Read through and continue to the second page
  7. Under Option "Select", Authorize or Rescind the two statements and then click Submit. (Note: If you do not complete this or authorize it, any aid offered as a result of completing the FAFSA will not pay through)
  8. Next, you can return to the Financial Aid tab
  9. Click Award Information.
  10. Select an Aid Year:
    1. This Year: 2024-2025
  11. Click the last tab Accept Award Offer
  12. Review and decide on your financial aid (either Accept or Decline) by using the drop down menu next to the applicable aid and click Submit.
NOTE: Grants and scholarships are automatically accepted by the system (including Pell Grant)

Additional Information


  1. You must complete the entire instruction process listed above or your aid will be cancelled. If you are offered other types of aid, you must select: Accept, Decline, Decide Later (if funds are still available), or Accept a Partial Amount (if you want an amount lower than the amount offered).
  2. Once you have made a decision about your offer, you may need to complete additional requirements.
  3. If you accept the Direct Federal Loans,  you are required to electronically complete the following steps:
    1. Entrance Counseling
    2. Master Promissory Note
  4. Click "Return to Menu" and select "Student Requirements" to see if any paperwork or other actions are being Requested. Please submit the documents to the office or e-mail us at financialaid@easternct.edu with any questions or acceptable electronic documents.

Check E-web Self-Service again after approximately two weeks to ensure that your Financial Aid pays to your student account (Direct Loans won't pay to your account until the week before classes start). If your aid hasn't paid to your student account, please e-mail us to check and make sure you have completed all requirements.
