The Theatre + Performance Media Major at Eastern provides students with a comprehensive understanding of theatrical and filmmaking traditions worldwide. Through this program, students explore the creative process of live performance and film production, honing their vocal, physical, design, and technical abilities. Practical experience is gained through classes, internships, and projects, including full-length stage and film productions, one-acts, short films, and staged readings. Outside the classroom, students can engage in extracurricular activities like Drama Society, Tech Theatre Club, Film Club, and Modern Movement (dance club) to further pursue their interests.

The program is housed in Eastern's modern Fine Arts Instructional Center, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities such as Proscenium Thrust Theatre, Studio Theatre, performance/dance labs, and design classrooms. Additionally, the nearby Communication Building provides access to a television studio, radio station, and film editing suites, enhancing students' learning and practical training.

Opportunities for broadening horizons are offered through touring experiences, including events like the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, United States Institute of Theatre Technology conference, Los Angeles Spring Break Program, and the Prague Quadrennial program. These experiences expose students to diverse performance contexts and industry professionals, providing a global perspective on theatre and performance media. Moreover, the program benefits from guest artist residencies, allowing students to interact with accomplished professionals in the field and gain valuable insights into their craft.
