Spring 2021 Important Information From the Registrar's Office

Welcome to Eastern Connecticut State University for the spring 2021 semester. Much of the information contained in this notice is located on the Office of the Registrar's website. We recommend that you follow either the office's Facebook page and/or Twitter page in order for you to be notified of all important updates, reminders, and deadlines to help ensure academic success.

Dropping and Adding Classes

As a reminder, for this semester, students must obtain instructor approval to add courses. The deadline for adding full semester courses is February 8. View instructions for adding a course.

You may still drop full semester courses online using eWeb until February 8.

­No Forms Needed!

The staff in the Registrar’s Office has been busy preparing for the semester and adjusting our services to accommodate a hybrid environment. Nearly all of our processes can be completed using Eastern email - no forms needed, and no need to venture to the office. All of these processes are outlined on our webpage under Forms, Policies, and Procedures.

Process to Obtain Transcripts:

All transcript requests must be made online through your eWeb services. Simply log into eWeb, navigate to Student Services – Student Records – Request Official Transcript. Once logged into the transcript system you are able to request an eTranscript to be emailed or a paper transcript to be mailed. Please note that transcripts are no longer printed on site at Eastern Connecticut State University, but instead are handled by an outside vendor, therefore Official Transcripts can no longer be picked up at the Registrar’s Office.

Unofficial Transcripts- You can print your own unofficial transcript directly from eWeb. Alternatively, you can have an Official eTranscript emailed to your email address. Once you open this email, the transcript is no longer official.

While both eTranscript and paper transcripts can be requested using eWeb, requesting an eTranscript is the most efficient way to obtain your record and most requests will be processed within 2 hours.

Releasing Education Record Information:

You may, at your discretion, grant the University permission to release information about your student records to a named third party by adding them as a FERPA Privacy Waiver Designee. You may add, edit or remove a FERPA Privacy Waiver Designee using eWeb:

  1. Log in to eWeb
  2. Select Personal Information
  3. Select View/Update FERPA Privacy Waiver Designee(s)
  4. Follow the instructions provided to add, edit or remove a FERPA Privacy Waiver Designee.

Annual Notice of Rights Under FERPA

Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) - Eastern Connecticut State University is required to annually notify students in attendance of their FERPA rights. The annual notice is located on the Registrar's website where you will also find additional information regarding directory information and opt out options, other FERPA information as well as applicable forms.

Policies, Procedures and Deadline Information

Do you know the last day you can drop a class? Do you know when the deadline is to apply for August and December graduation? Public Information

In accordance with Public Act 90-259, statistics on campus crime for the previous calendar year are available on request by contacting the Department of Public Safety.

Voter Registration

In accordance with Federal Law Section 48a(b) of H.R. 6 Higher Education Amendments of 1998, Mail-in voter registration cards are available at the Support Services Center, Student Center, and Library.
