Student Support - Counseling and Psychological Services

Counseling and Psychological Services will be continuing counseling services through Telehealth platforms with current clients at this time. CAPS has established an effective intake process for new clients, which includes a telephone screening and confidential submission of digital intake paperwork. Please contact CAPS main line (860) 465-0181 to schedule an initial screening appointment.

What is Telehealth?

  • “Telethealth” includes the practice of education, goal setting, accountability, referral to resources, problem solving, skills training, and help with decision making. Telehealth counseling may include mental health care delivery, diagnosis, consultation, and psychotherapeutic treatment.
  • Telehealth will occur primarily through interactive video and/or other data communications. If one form of technology fails during a Telehealth session, an alternate form of communication may be utilized by the counselor.
  • Services delivered by my therapist are required by law to take place within the state in which my therapist is licensed (CT), with the exception of crisis consultations or sessions, and teletherapy services may not be provided in international jurisdictions.

We are continuing to operate M-F, 8-5, and are accessible through our main phone line (860-465-0181) or by email  You can also follow CAPS on Facebook:  and Instagram: ecsu.caps
