    The Office of AccessAbility Services (OAS) will be open 8 AM - 5 PM, with staff available on rotation in person at OAS Main Office in Wood Support Services or virtually by phone or email.

    The OAS Testing Center will be operating within testing time blocks and all tests scheduled in advance. Visitors should go to the OAS Main Office in Wood Support Services for assistance as the OAS Testing Center will be closed to all but those taking exams.

    The OAS Support Program that offers one-on-one academic or social coaching will be available to students. Appointments can be made on Microsoft Bookings and will be held virtually with in-person options available if needed.

    The center will be staffed each day of the week (Monday-Friday) and will be open from 9AM - 5 PM for the entire semester. Students can make in-person and online appointments. There will be no on-campus career development workshops. All workshops and programs will be virtual.

    • Confidential space available for telehealth services if students don’t have private space available
    • Services include intake appointments, individual counseling, group counseling, same day crisis counseling, consultation for faculty/staff, referrals and outreach/collaborations with other offices.
    • Urgent appointments for those in mental health crises from 1 - 3 PM; outside of those times, students can still be seen, but may have to wait a short period based on staff availability

    Hurley Dining Hall

    Hurley Dining Hall opens January 24, 2021, for takeout only.
    The dining room will reopen on February 1, 2021, with limited seating (50% capacity).

    Residence Hall Move-in Dates

    Sunday, January 24 or Monday, January 25 (based on student preference).

    January 24

    • 10:00 - 11:30 AM: Last names A-I
    • 11:30 - 1:00 PM: Last names J-Q
    • 1:00 - 2:30 PM: Last names R-Z
    • 2:30 - 4:45 PM: Any student can be processed
    • Students not arriving by 4:45 PM on January 24 will need to come on January 25.
    January 25
    • 11:00 - 12:30 AM: Last names R-Z
    • 12:30 - 2:00 PM: Last names J-Q
    • 2:00 - 3:30 PM: Last names A-I
    • 3:30 - 4:45 PM: Any student can be processed
    • Students not arriving by 4:45 PM on January 25 will not be allowed to move in and must wait until the next on-campus testing on February 4, 2021, to move on campus.

    Carts are available to assist with the move-in process. Only the residents of the building will be permitted in the residence halls during move in. Family and friends assisting with belongings must wear facemasks and can provide support at the curb. Cars should be parked as needed in the parking garages.

    Limited Quarantine

    To minimize the possibility of COVID infections, all resident students must adhere to a "limited quarantine" period for the first week on campus.

    • Students are expected to remain in their residence halls except to:
      • Attend an on-ground, in-person class
      • Pick up "to go" meals at Hurley Dining Hall (for students with meal plans)
      • Purchase books and supplies at the Bookstore
      • Visit services such as bursar, registrar, financial aid
    • Resident hall staff will offer a variety of programs and activities to engage students while in quarantine
    • The limited quarantine period will end at 8:00 AM on Monday, February 1, 2021.

    Diversity and Inclusion Training

    All residential students must complete Diversity and Inclusion Training through the online Everfi software before being allowed to move in. If you have not received the reminder emails, check your Eastern Apps. If you cannot locate the app, contact Paul Serignese at serignesep@easternct.edu.

  • Pre-Arrival Requirements

    • All residential students will need to submit a negative COVID (RT-PCR) test result taken within 14 days of arrive in order to be allowed to move in.
    • Proof of a negative COVID-19 (RT-PCR) test must be submitted to Health Services (by fax 860-465-4560 or email, healthservices@easternct.edu) prior to arrival to campus.
    • Bring a hard copy of your test results in addition to fax or emailing them
    • Test results must include name, date of birth, test date, type of test administered, and results

    Students Previously Infected with COVID-19

    Students who have had COVID-19 in the past can submit their positive results from a test taken within the past 90 days. Health Services has the records of students who tested positive on-campus and will not need students to resubmit those results. Students who tested positive off-campus will need to submit their positive results in PDF form by January 21, 2021, to healthservices@easternct.edu and aliceas@easternct.edu to be allowed to move in.

    Out-of-State Resident Students

    • Move in: January 4 or January 25
    • You must complete the “Connecticut Travel Health Form” https://appengine.egov.com/apps/ct/DPH/Connecticut-Travel-Health-Form
    • Out-of-state students must provide a negative COVID-PCR test taken no more than 14 days prior to move in. Such students must follow “soft-restriction” guidelines until they complete on-campus COVID testing during the first week of classes.
    • Soft-restriction:
      • Maintain appropriate distance from others
      • Remain in your room as much as possible
      • Pick up meals to go from dining hall
      • Take classes remotely until test results
    • Out-of-state students who can show negative COVID-PCR test results from a test within 72 hours of arrival will be able to participate in regular activities immediately on arrival without restrictions

    Move-In Testing

    To ensure the health and safety of the campus, all resident students will be tested on arrival on January 24 or January 25 based on a staggered schedule. Students should report to the Betty Tipton Room for testing PRIOR TO GOING TO THEIR RESIDENCE HALLS on this schedule:

    January 24

    • 10:00 - 11:30 AM: Last names A-I
    • 11:30 - 1:00 PM: Last names J-Q
    • 1:00 - 2:30 PM: Last names R-Z
    • 2:30 - 4:45 PM: Any student can be processed
    • Students not arriving by 4:45 PM on January 24 will need to come on January 25.
    January 25

    Ongoing COVID Testing


    • Starting the week of February 1, all resident students will be tested each week at least through the end of February.
    • All commuting students taking on-campus classes will also be offered the opportunity to be part of the weekly testing process.

    COVID Test Locations

    Through Connecticut’s Community Testing Program, all Connecticut residents have access to no-cost COVID-19 testing through multiple hospital, community health center and other pop-up sites. Results through this program are available within 72 hours or less in the vast majority of cases. At this time, insurance is not required, though some providers may recommend appointments or pre-registration to facilitate expedited testing. It is recommended to verify hours and clinic sites on the vendor's website in the event that sites have changed or closed for weather, etc. State sponsored sites may be located via www.ct.gov/prioritytesting
