Goddard Hall/Communication Building Renovations – This project will renovate both Goddard Hall and the Communication Building, providing for newly-renovated classrooms, labs and offices.  The project will also include new electrical, HVAC, plumbing, sprinklers and heating upgrades.  Windows will be replaced, and building skin improvements will be addressed.  Once renovated, these buildings will meet the State of Connecticut High Performance Building Regulations.  The Communication Building came off line in May of 2017 and was completed in July 2018.  This building now houses new classrooms, labs, a state-of-the-art radio station and TV studio as well as new computer labs and offices for the Communication Department, Media Services and Banner Services.  #AnchorThe interior renovation of Goddard Hall is well underway.  The second-floor walls have all been framed and enclosed in gyp board, rough in of utilities is complete and ceilings are being framed.  Goddard’s existing elevator has been replaced and it is expected to be working by the end of the month.  They are nearing completion of a new elevator at the south end of the building that will serve both Goddard and the Communication Building.  Goddard will house labs for KPE and Psychology, general-purpose classrooms and meeting rooms.  This is the second phase of construction, and it is on track to be complete in June of 2019.  The design of these buildings also meets the State of Connecticut High Performance Building Regulations.
