Business Administration Major: BS Degree Requirements

The Business Administration major has been redesigned. (Students who started the program in a catalog term prior to fall 2021 have the option of completing additional concentrations and should check the Pre-Fall 2021 degree requirements page for more information.) Existing students interested in switching to the new program below should contact the department chair, Dr. Emiliano Villanueva (villanuevae@easternct.edu).

To graduate with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration students must complete 54 credits in total. Requirements consist of 21 credits of required foundational courses, 18 credits of required core and advanced courses, and 15 credits of elective courses in a declared area of concentration.

All Business Administration majors must declare at least one concentration, either before the end of the second semester of sophomore year or upon transfer into the major. Choose from management, marketing, and/or international business. A sport management concentration will also be available starting in fall 2022.

A Business Administration major whose cumulative GPA falls below 2.7 for two consecutive semesters will be dismissed from the major.

A minimum of 24 semester hours of business courses must be completed in residence at Eastern. Transfer students with more than 30 credits should consult with the department chair or other department representatives as early as possible. To check which Connecticut Community College courses are equivalent to Eastern courses, please see the Transfer Student Course Equivalency Tool.
