Labor and Human Resources Major: Degree Requirements

Labor and Human Resources (LHR) students take courses totaling 39 credits from a variety of departments with at least nine credits taken from each of four groupings of courses. Six courses are required of all LHR students:

  • ECO 429 Political Economy of Labor Relations
  • ECO 330 Labor Economics
  • ECO 333 Health Economics
  • BUS 330 Labor Relations & Employment Law
  • BUS 333 Human Resource Management
  • PSY 303 Industrial-Organizational Psychology

ECO 429 is taken by all LHR majors to satisfy Stage 3 of the University Writing Requirement*. Three credits of an internship course (LHR 490) may be applied to the required 39 credits. The prerequisites for LHR courses do not count toward the 39 credits for the major.

  • PSY 100 General Psychology - 3 credits
  • ECO 215 Statistics for Business and Economics - 3 credits
  • BUS 201 Principles of Management - 3 credits

Economics Requirements*

Business Administration Requirements

Choose three courses (nine credits):

Choose three courses (nine credits):
