Paramedic Science Minor

The objective of the program is to train non-physicians in the principles of evaluation and resuscitation of the critically ill or injured patient. The educational goals of the paramedic student will be to attain advanced knowledge and experience in the evaluation of acute medical emergencies and the psychomotor skills necessary to accomplish this task.

  • To complete program students must earn a C+ or better.
  • Must have completed pre-requisite 17 credits
  • Completed all Clinical Rotations and Field internship
  • Must take all certification exams.

Pre-Requisite Courses (Must be completed before admission into the program)

  • HSC 225: Medical Terminology - 3 credits
  • HSC 318/319: Anatomy and Physiology with Lab - 8 credits
  • HSC 408: Principles of Pharmacology - 3 credits
  • HSC 308: Principles of Toxicology - 3 credits
  • Certified/Licensed EMT with National Registry

Required Courses: 17 credits

  • HSC 211 Paramedic Science I with Lab - 4 credits
  • HSC 312 Paramedic Science II with Lab - 4 credits
  • HSC 322 Paramedic Science III with Lab - 4 credits
  • HSC 422 Paramedic Science IV with Lab - 4 credits
  • HSC 492 Clinical Rotation and Field Internship for Paramedics - 1 credit
