Mitchell Doucette

Mitchell L. Doucette, Ph.D, M.S., is an injury epidemiologist and health policy analyst, focusing on programs and laws that impact rates of unintentional and intentional injuries. Injury topics of interest are homicides, suicides, opioid poisonings, and motor vehicle crashes. Prior to Eastern, Dr. Doucette received his Ph.D from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. His dissertation focused on the role of firearms in occupational homicides. Dr. Doucette received his M.S in Public Health from UMass Amherst.

Dr. Doucette was part of a research team that was awarded the 2018 American Public Health Association's Best Paper of the Year, titled, "Storage practices of U.S. Gun Owners in 2016."
