Sustainable Energy Science: BS Degree Requirements

The Following Courses Are Required for All EES Majors Completing the Sustainable Energy Science Concentration

I. Core EES Courses: 35 credits

  • EES 104 Dynamic Earth w/Lab* - 4 credits
    *Alternatives 110 w/Lab 112, or EES 220 w/Lab 221
  • EES 130 Ancient Environments w/Lab - 4 credits
  • EES 205 Sustainable Energy - 3 credits
  • EES 207 Sustainable Energy Lab - 1 credit
  • EES 224 Landform Analysis w/Lab - 4 credits
  • EES 305 Energy Resources - 3 credits
  • EES 322 Hydrology w/Lab - 4 credits
  • EES 330 Mineralogy and Rock Analysis w/Lab - 4 credits OR
    EES 356 Structural Geology and Environmental Applications - 4 credits
  • EES 340 Geographic Information Systems w/Lab - 4 credits
  • EES 344 Sedimentology and Stratigraphy w/Lab - 4 credits

II. Advanced Energy Courses: 9-12 credits

  • EES 402 Energy Issues in Geoscience OR
    EES 405 Energy Analysis – 3 credits
    (required for Sustainable Energy Science concentration)
  • EES 306 Sustainable Buildings - 3 credits
  • EES 330 Mineralogy and Rock Analysis w/Lab - 4 credits OR
    EES 356 Structural Geology and Environmental Applications - 4 credits
  • EES 342 Advanced Geographic Information Systems - 4 credits
