2006 Henry Barnard Student Awards

Brian Whitehead

Brian Whitehead was among twelve outstanding seniors from the four Connecticut State Universities to be honored at the Henry Barnard Distinguished Student Awards presented by the Connecticut State University System Foundation during their annual banquet.

To be considered for a Barnard Award, a student must have at least a 3.75 GPA and a record of significant community service. Brian, a mathematics major, with a minor in computer science had a 3.99 GPA and will begin working toward his PhD in mathematics this fall at the University of Connecticut.

Sandra Boscarino

Sandra Boscarino of Manchester, CT, graduated summa cum laude from Eastern in 2006. During her time here, she was a charter member of the History Department's Phi Alpha Theta Honors Society and an Education Department tour guide for visiting fifth-graders. She was also heavily involved in the local community where she volunteered at the Wally Friendship Club in Manchester, and served as a Sunday school teacher at her local church.
