Ruth Benedict

Welcome to my Homepage!

I obtained my doctorate (Ph.D.) in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Connecticut in 2000 and joined the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work at ECSU in the fall of 2001. Currently, I am Associate Professor of Anthropology.

My teaching and research interests include cultural and economic anthropology, sustainable development and the environment, the anthropology of globalization, and Caribbean transnational migration. I have conducted anthropological field research in Puerto Rico, Cuba, and the United States.

In this page, you will find information about my current research and teaching activities as well as various links to some useful and interesting web sites on anthropology and Latin American and Caribbean Studies.
