Terry Lennox is tenured Associate Professor of Art in the Art & Art History Department at Eastern Connecticut State University. She is coordinator for the Digital Art and Design Concentration and teaches design and illustration. Of special interest to Professor Lennox are collaborations with the community to bring about successful real-world design experiences in an undergraduate educational setting.
Terry Lennox earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Magna Cum Laude, in Painting from Syracuse University, a fellowship to the Yale Summer School of Music and Art, and a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Yale University.
After college, Ms. Lennox embarked on a series of community-involved arts initiatives, including painting and directing numerous murals in New Haven with teenagers and receiving a grant from the Connecticut Commission on the Arts to paint murals in the local welfare department and correctional center. Ms. Lennox also became involved with an arts-in-social service non-profit called City Spirit Artists. Through working and volunteering at all levels in this award-winning organization, up to Board President, she learned that practice of the arts have a huge human value, even to the extent of prolonging the life of a terminally ill person.
Since 1993, Terry Lennox has been creating art for corporate and private clients in illustration, design, portraiture, and sculpture. Selected clients include: General Motors, Scandinavian Airlines, United Technologies, The Blue Buffalo Company, EMCOR Group, Chubb Insurance, Hartford Hospital, Mason Inc., Tossed Express, and the Connecticut Children’s Museum.
From 2000-2004, Ms. Lennox worked for Business Performance Technologies, as Graphic Designer and Senior Designer. At BP-Tech, she was responsible for the look and feel of the company’s collateral materials and e-learning courseware for corporate clients. Ms. Lennox was Creative Services Lead for numerous courses for Verizon GNI. A partial client list includes: CVS Pharmacy, FDIC, Inter-American Development Bank, Motorola, MedcoHealth, Nestle, SkillSoft, and Toyota.
Professor Lennox’s portraiture is represented by Francesca Fine Art/Portraits North in Lexington, MA, and in the Hartford area, her illustration is represented by Chip Caton, Artist Representative.
Terry Lennox exhibits her artwork and has won awards and grants. She is a member of the College Art Association, Graphic Artists Guild, Portrait Society of America, Connecticut Society of Portrait Artists, and the Connecticut Society of Pastel Artists.
