Carmen Cid Recogized by Women’s Education and Legal Fund

Dr. Carmen Cid
Carmen Cid, dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, was honored as one of five women presented with 2006 Maria Miller Stewart Awards by the Connecticut Women’s Education and Legal Fund (CWEALF) on Oct. 12. The event, held at the Hartford Hilton, attracted more than 400 people in support of CWEALF’s efforts to provide legal, educational, and other support for women, girls, and their families. In accepting the award, Cid told the audience, “We all mentor each other, sometimes unknowingly. Each of us in enriched by the encounters we have with other people during our lives. Take mental notes of these experiences. That and a little faith can move mountains.”
