  • Center For Environmental Citizenship / EnviroCitizen (CEC) is a national non-partisan 501(c)(3) organization. CEC is dedicated to educating, training, and organizing a diverse, national network of young leaders to protect the environment. (see "campus organizing" link).
  • Clean Air - Cool Planet (CA-CP) creates partnerships in the Northeast to implement solutions to climate change and build constituencies for effective climate policies and actions. CA-CP is the region's leading organization dedicated to finding and promoting solutions to global warming. CA-CP is a science-based, non-partisan, 501(c) 3 non-profit.
  • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) seeks to protect human health and safeguard the natural environment - air, water, and land - upon which life depends. For 30 years, EPA has been working for a cleaner, healthier environment for the American people. For educational resources, go to www.epa.gov/epahome/educational.htm.
  • National Wildlife Foundation (NWF): For more than a decade, NWF's Campus Ecology program has been helping transform the nation's college campuses into living models of an ecologically sustainable society, and training a new generation of environmental leaders. NWF's website offers links to schools that have implemented the project you are researching.
  • New England Climate Coalition (NECC) is a coalition of more than 160 state and local environmental, public health, municipal and religious organizations concerned about the drastic effects of global warming in the Northeast. Their goal is to ensure the New England Governors implement the Climate Change Action Plans promised in 2001. The Governors' short-term goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 levels by 2010. That deadline is fast approaching, and greenhouse gas emissions are still on the rise.
  • Second Nature assists colleges and universities in their quest to integrate sustainability as a core component of all education and practice, and in expanding efforts to make human activity sustainable.
  • Student Environmental Action Coalition (SEAC) is a student and youth run national network of progressive organizations and individuals whose aim is to uproot environmental injustices through action and education. We define the environment to include the physical, economic, political and cultural conditions in which we live. By challenging the power structure which threatens these environmental conditions, SEAC works to create progressive social change on both the local and global levels.
  • University Leadership for a Sustainable Future (USLF) assists colleges and universities in making sustainability an integral part of curriculum, research, operations and outreach. ULSF is also the secretariat for signatories of the Talloires Declaration (1990), which has been signed by more than 300 university presidents and chancellors around the world
