As institutions dedicated to the research and education of a healthy, prosperous and sustainable future for all of society, colleges and universities are ideal leaders in addressing the issue of climate change. Together with the help of the Institute for Sustainable Energy, ECSU and other universities:act as communities to educate and influence the local community;
expand the role of colleges and universities in combating climate change;
reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other harmful gases;
establish a network of CT universities and communities working together toward a common goal;
serve as learning laboratories to set an example of sustainability for other colleges and universities, acting as the leading edge of change.
