![]()
Reader's Theater is a rehearsed group presentation that requires participants to read parts or lines from a script. Scripts can come from classroom content and are most useful when they are curriculum based. Curriculum Based Reader's Theater can easily be designed by teachers or students and incorporated into the classroom curricular activities and can fit the standards for any course of study.
Some of the skills that are enhanced through the use of Reader's Theater are reading fluency, and enhanced memory due to repetition. Students also benefit from reading, writing and speaking across the curriculum. The following sites may be useful for obtaining scripts, or examples of how to write a script.
