Subject Specific Databases

MathSciNet
MathSciNet is a comprehensive database covering the world's mathematical literature from 1940; it does NOT include full-text access to articles, but you can request articles through Inter-Library Loan (ILL).
ScienceDirect
ScienceDirect is an electronic collection of citations to journal literature and, for selected journals, full text articles in the fields of science, technology, medicine and math.  Over 1,800 journals are included in ScienceDirect, some of them specific to mathematics. Many of the high-level articles include math in relation to analysis of scientific experiments.
Science Full-Text Select Science Full Text Select provides full-text articles with abstracts covering a core selection of science periodicals.  Subjects related to math include acoustics, mathematics, physics, and more.
Statistical Universe Provides summaries of statistical publications including The Statistical Abstracts of the United States, CIS's American Statistics Index, and documents published by the Department of Commerce, Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Census, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Labor and much more.  Also included are abstracts of the full documents that are the primary source of the tables, as well as links to related government web sites.
 
General Databases (which include information on math)
AcademicSearch Premier (EbscoHost) An interdisciplinary database which covers diverse areas of study, including education, computer sciences, engineering, physics and math, and includes full-text articles to over 4,595 periodicals.
American National Biography Contains biographies of almost 18,000 deceased men and women, whose lives have shaped America. Search for mathematicians by choosing "Occupations" - "Science and Technology".
Credo Reference

Formerly "xreferplus", this is an online reference collection of encyclopedias, dictionaries, thesauri, subject-specific books, and more. Try searching for mathematical terms, like "pi", "integer", "prime number", etc.


Encyclopedia Britannica Online version of the familiar work. A good source for introductory math topics.
iCONN Newsstand A collection of 6 major newspaper titles including the New York Times, the L.A. Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, the Christian Science Monitor, and the Hartford Courant. Newspapers include current news about the field of mathematics, especially personalities and math education.
JSTOR JSTOR is an archive of core scholarly journals in cross-disciplinary fields such as anthropology, economics, mathematics, and the arts and sciences. Our collection includes the Arts & Sciences I & II collections, which are searched from the initial JSTOR search box seamlessly.
