"The National Resource Center for The First-Year Experience and Students in Transition has as its mission to support and advance efforts to improve student learning and transitions into and through higher education. We achieve this mission by providing opportunities for the exchange of practical, theory-based information and ideas through the convening of conferences, teleconferences, institutes, and workshops; publishing monographs, a peer-reviewed journal, an electronic newsletter, guides, and books; generating and supporting research and scholarship; hosting visiting scholars; and administering a web site and listservs."

First-Year Seminar Syllabi Database

"This database contains syllabi for nearly 100 first-year seminars from over 60 institutions. Each file is formatted for Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) and is accompanied by contact information for relevant personnel at each school.

To search our first-year seminar syllabi database, enter your search criteria in the fields below. The 'general search' searches the entire database for all records that match your search criteria. For example, a general search for 'TX'will find only schools in Texas, while a search for 'academic' will find schools that have the word 'academic' anywhere in the seminar’s name, book title, or seminar type. You may limit your search by entering a specific school or seminar type. To view ALL records in our database, please leave all the fields empty and click the search button."
