Sculpture Resources @ Smith Library

The following sources provide authoritative information and starting points for research on the topic of sculpture. This list is not intended to be comprehensive, but rather a first step. The reference staff is always pleased to assist in the use of any of the library's resources and services.

CONSULS - Our online catalog. This is where you can find books, journal & magazine titles (NOT articles), & media (DVDs, CDs, videos) in the library's collection by using the online catalog, CONSULS.

RESEARCH DATABASES - You can find articles, many full-text, by searching in our subscription research databases. In addition to articles, these databases include references to book reviews and essays that are included in anthologies. This is usually a better place to start academic research than a general web search engine, such as Google or Yahoo.

REFERENCE BOOKS - Encyclopedias and other reference books can be a good place to start a research project. They are designed to provide information and give you an overview of a new or unfamiliar topic. They can also provide a bibliography of sources for further research.

WEBSITES OF INTEREST - There is a lot of interesting information on the web, but also a lot of misinformation which you do not want to use in an academic research project. Examine web resources carefully.
