In September, 2008 the doors opened to a state-of the-art, 174,000 square-foot Science Building. The facility houses all of Eastern's science and mathematics departments, which had previously been scattered across seven separate buildings. It sports a 132-seat lecture hall, sophisticated audio-visual systems; a state-of-the-art greenhouse; and high tech laboratories. In addition, the building has been built to U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) certification standards. |

Eastern Connecticut State University offers strong science programs and coursework that, together with the liberal arts emphasis of all Eastern programs, constitutes ideal preparation for a career in nursing. While Eastern does not offer a specific nursing major, we do offer several avenues for individuals to pursue a post baccalaureate nursing program. You will select a Bachelors of General Studies degree, create an Individualized major, or choose any major offered by Eastern in conjunction with the appropriate electives for your post baccalaureate program of choice.
The following programs are two options for entering the nursing field:

The ACE program is an accelerated BSN (Bachelors of Nursing) program for individuals with a BS/BA in any field from an accredited college or university who wish to enter the nursing profession. The program allows qualified individuals to complete the nursing coursework in 12 consecutive months.
This program is designed for those with a bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing field. Upon successful completion of the one-year MEIN program, the student is awarded a certificate in basic nursing and is eligible to take the NCLEX-RN licensure exam.
