Recently, a student contacted the University Police Department during the late evening hours to report a suspicious person on campus. Officers were able to locate the individual who was not accused of any crimes, but had no business here on campus. The individual was issued a trespass warning and escorted from University property. We encourage everyone to report suspicious persons, activities or packages. While there was no indication that this person was a threat to the campus community, accurate information given by a fellow student allowed campus authorities to intervene immediately. We depend on everyone’s cooperation to keep Eastern a safe community to learn and work.
THERE ARE NO TIMELY WARNINGS IN EFFECT AT THIS TIME!
Please use caution especially when out at night. Always practice safe traveling measures both on and off campus. Walk with a partner whenever you can and let someone know where you are going. As always, be vigilant and watchful of suspicious behavior or individuals on campus and notify Campus Police if you see something occurring that seems to be out of the ordinary.
SHUTTLE SERVICE NOTICE:
WE REGRET THAT THERE MAY BE SHORT DELAYS IN SHUTTLE SERVICE DURING AFTERNOON WEEKDAYS. WE LOST 3 SHUTTLE DRIVERS UNEXPECTEDLY JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF CLASSES. WE ARE WORKING TO GET THIS MATTER RESOLVED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE!
The published parking regulations and map has the most accurate parking information. Eastern’s Department of Public Safety is also the best place to secure parking information. A great number of parking appeals come from students stating they were not aware they could not park in a certain area.
