Timely Warnings


Occurred at approximately 7:15pm at the Subway store on 33 High Street in Willimantic CT.
The suspect entered the store and showed a handgun to the two female employees and demanded money. No other customers were inside at the time of incident. The suspect left the business with an undetermined amount of money.  No injuries were reported and the suspect fled in a unknown direction. Suspect was described by witnesses as a Hispanic male about 6 foot tall wearing a navy blue jacket, scruffy appearance,  two tear drop eye tattoos.
Willimantic Officers are still working the scene.



Just after 6:00 pm. this evening, an Eastern resident student was a victim of a strong arm robbery in the Windham Tech parking lot as he was walking to his car that had been parked there earlier in the day. Victim stated he was confronted by two males who stole his iPhone. He was transported to Windham Hospital by by a relative after receiving some facial injuries. He gave the following description of the suspects to the Connecticut State Police and Eastern Police. Both suspected were identified as Hispanic males.

Suspect #1 was described as about 5’8″ tall with heavy build and light colored beard.

Suspect #2 was described as about 5’8″ tall with a thin build and wearing a white t-shirt and jeans.

Both left scene in a late model red Ford Escort. The license plate is unknown. No weapons were displayed.

The Connecticut State Police is investigating this case and the Willimantic Police have been advised of the suspect description.

Anyone seeing this car or the potential suspect should contact University police.

Please use caution especially when out at night. Always practice safe traveling measures both on and off campus. Walk with a partner whenever you can and let someone know where you are going.  As always, be vigilant and watchful of suspicious behavior or individuals on campus and notify Campus Police if you see something occurring that seems to be out of the ordinary.
