Pearson Library Catalog

Use the Online Catalog to locate books, periodicals, and audiovisual materials available in Pearson Library. Try a keyword search, which allows you to search using any word; a subject search requires an exact subject heading from the Library of Congress Subject Headings books, such as SPANISH LANGUAGE, LATIN AMERICAN LITERATURE, SPANISH AMERICAN LITERATURE, or SPANISH LITERATURE.

For genres of literature such as poetry or fiction, use the name of the genre after Latin American, Spanish American, or Spanish, such as LATIN AMERICAN POETRY or SPANISH FICTION. For literature of specific Latin American countries, use the nationality of the genre, such as MEXICAN DRAMA.

For specific authors or works, look under the author's last name or under the title of the work. In the case of an author with paternal and maternal family names, look under the paternal name, which is the first surname. As an example, Federico Garcia Lorca would be cataloged under the name Garcia, since his father's family name was Garcia. If two family names are connected by "y" or "de", use the first (paternal) surname. Federico Carlos Sáinz de Robles would be cataloged under the name of Sáinz, and Jose Ortega y Gasset would be cataloged under Ortega.
