Write an annotated bibliography of 5-7 items based on the research topic of your research paper assignment.

Annotated bibliographies look the same as Works Cited bibliographies except that they provide not just a citation but also a brief description of content. usually of 4-5 sentences. In this description your job is to paraphrase or sum up the general ideas of the work. What is the point of the work? What argument is the author making? What are some of the examples the author uses to support his argument?

The individual works of your annotated bibliography should be closely connected to your own research topic. For example, if you wrote on television and wrestling, your bibliography should include research works on sport on television in general and/or a specific discussion of wrestling on television. In general your bibliography should develop out of your research for your research essay. By all means use the sources cited in your text in your annotated bibliography.
