Access to Sites in Connecticut

Sand and Gravel Excavation Sites

  • Mr. DeSiato, president of DeSiato Sand and Gravel Corporation kindly provided permission for Dr. Randolph Steinen and colleagues to conduct research at the south Jordan esker site. We appreciate his willingness to allow access to the site.
  • Mr. Paul Bonner, President of the Haine Materials Corporation, Asphalt Products provided access to a large sand and gravel pit near Willimantic. Mr. Bonner also agreed to be interviewd on tape and provides insight into the history, materials and processing of sand and gravel for the aggregate industry. We greatly appreciate this assistance.

Georgia

  • Mr. and Mrs. John B. Cook and Ms. Nancy A. Turner of Lake Park Georgia kindly provided access to Balboa Lake while doing field work relating to the Georgia virtual field trip.
