I joined the University faculty from United Technologies where I had worked as a Senior Engineer in the Space Systems Department. I obtained my Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts. I earned a MS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics from Loyola College. I was instrumental in establishing the computer science program at the University. In addition, as chair I developed both the MIS and Computer Engineering minors. After returning from my 1990 sabbatical, I won an Elias Howe grant award for $100,000 to study parallel processing in a liberal arts environment. My research interests are parallel and distributed processing, computer performance evaluation, and computer architecture.
