Steve Frazier retired from Eastern Connecticut State University on June 15, 2006 and assumes duties as the CIO of the California Martime Academy in Vallejo, California on July 17, 2006.  For more information on Cal Maritime, please visit their website at http://www.csum.edu

For over twenty years, he has served in academic computing positions at colleges and universities in four states.  During this time, he has taught courses either as a full-time or a part-time instructor.  He has also served as a programmer for administrative processes and academic projects as well as a manager of research at a business college.

As a direct report to the CIO, Steve had the overall responsibility for academic computing at Eastern Connecticut State University, Connecticut’s public liberal arts university and a residential campus in the midst of major construction.  The team that he led, the Center for Instructional Technology (CIT), a support group within Information Technology Services, supports the application and integration of technology across the curriculum and provides essential support services for the use of technology in teaching, learning and research. To accomplish these strategic goals, CIT works independently and in collaboration with other support teams within ITS, university departments, faculty and students as well as external organizations and companies.  In support of the University's strategic objectives, the mission statement and goals of CIT are tied to objectives and measures defined in Eastern Connecticut State University's Strategic Plan.

One of CIT's many successful projects has been the implementation of WebCT CE which was spotlighted in the January 26, 2005 issue of the WebCT Newsletter.  CIT was also awarded first place in ACM SIGUCCS competition several years ago for their Passport to Technology CD produced for incoming freshmen and transfer students.  Competing with manufacturers, service companies, universities, hospitals, nonprofit organizations and state government, CIT was awarded two Connecticut Quality Improvement Award Innovation Silver Prizes for "New Methodology for Training of WebCT Faculty Designers" and "Website Redesign" in July 2005.
