First-Year Student Orientation, Advisement & Registration (S.O.A.R.)
Summer SOAR sessions for the incoming first-year students will be held on the following dates in the summer of 2013.

To sign up for a SOAR session, please complete the following steps:
Step 1: Pay your required tuition deposit. Tuition deposit must be received before you can reserve your SOAR date
(If you are a residential student, please also submit your housing deposit as soon as possible)
Step 2: Select your date of choice on the list above. This selection will bring you to the event details page.
Click the "register" pencil icon in the middle of that page and enter all required information in the event registration form window.
Step 3: You will receive an immediate email that your request was received.
This is NOT a confirmation of your SOAR session.
Step 4: You will receive a second email within 3-5 business days approving or denying your request based on receipt of
your tuition deposit and session availability. If your request is denied, you will need to return to this page and choose a new SOAR date (repeat steps 1-4).
Step 5: You will receive a third email from the orientation staff no later than 3 weeks before your SOAR session
with information about the SOAR session, what to bring, and answers to frequently asked questions.

Orientation Fee:
There is a separate fee of $150 for Orientation that is included in your fall tuition bill.
What to Bring to SOAR:
* Please do not bring any valuables with you
* All meals will be provided to students during SOAR
Students should check in upon arrival between 9 -10:15 a.m. at Constitution Hall with their overnight bags and a photo ID.
After check in,students should proceed to the Card Services office on the 2nd floor of Wood Support Services Center to have
their Student ID photo taken (be sure to bring your photo ID with you to Card Services).
Parents and students will then proceed to the University Welcome in the Student Center Betty Tipton Room to begin the
Orientation Program.
Upon completion of the parent program on Day 1, Parents will depart and should return to campus on Day 2 of SOAR to
pick up their student at Constitution Hall at 4:30pm. Overnight parking will be available for students who will attend without
parents or for students who wish to travel in their own vehicle.
