On Nov. 8, Eastern’s Asian Cultural Society hosted Diwali — “The Festival of Lights” — in the Student Center Café. Diwali is a traditional Hindu holiday celebrated every autumn to signify the defeat of darkness. Diwali signifies the victory of light and good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. The Asian Cultural Society’s mission is to engage students, faculty and the Windham community about Asian-centric cultural celebrations. Professors Anita Lee (KPE) and Bradley Davis (History) serve as the club’s co-advisors.
