Eastern Connecticut State University’s Campus Activity Board (CAB) was recently named a recipient of the 2020 Excellence in Programming Award for its programming efforts. The award was announced on Dec. 7 at the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) Northeast Regional Virtual Awards Ceremony. Eastern was one of three schools to win an Excellence in Programming Award this year.

The Excellence in Programming award was  established to distinguish and recognize the outstanding student life programming that happens in the NACA Northeast Region. Each school that wished to be considered was asked to produce a written submission that included a description of the mission of their organization, the range of diversity in the programs they produced, creative marketing initiatives and the effectiveness of their programs.

In place of the traditional presentations this year, schools were also given the option of submitting a creative video or PowerPoint presentation along with their written portion to further emphasize their significant campus programming.

“This year’s award considered programming efforts from November 2019 – November 2020, which is a testament to the hard work that was put in during these challenging times to ensure safe, engaging and meaningful programs, in addition to several events that were put on prior to our pivot online last year,” said Alyssa Duffy, assistant director of student activities. “The students are very excited that they won this award.”
