CREATE 2020 Comes Alive—Virtually

2020 is the 20th anniversary of Eastern Connecticut State University’s on-campus celebration of student research and creativity. CREATE stands for “Celebrate Research Excellence and Artistic Talent at Eastern,” and our students have once again demonstrated their research and artistic skills this spring.

Despite the challenges of learning from home during COVID-19, upwards of 100 students still found ways to submit their research findings, visual art, performances, and other scholarship — all in digital form. The new CREATE 2020 website demonstrates that technology can overcome distance and time to share our students’ intellectual experiences in robust fashion, even in a virtual world. Some of our students’ hard work represents three or four years of problem-solving, testing, and intellectual activity.

Graphic design students, theatre students, musicians, poets, videographers, and other students submitted posters, oral presentations, and other works for this year's celebration.  Please look at their work and reach out to those individual students to congratulate them on this wonderful achievement.  They were ably supported by the faculty CREATE committee, led by co-chairs Brendan Cunningham and Bryan Oakley, and committee members Thomas Balcerski, Pamela Chiang, Carlos Escoto, Jehoon Jeon, Chantel Larose,Kristen Morgan, Fatma Pakdil, Afarin Rahmanifar and Anya Sokolovskaya. Enjoy!
