Since we last talked to you guys we were getting ready to leave for spring break. Florida was awesome and we could not ask for better weather. We had a great time practicing in the warm weather, at the parks and hanging by the pool. While we were down there we played two games. Our first game was against Shorter University of Georgia, and we won 15-2. Next up was against 7th ranked Colby. After a tough first half we picked up our play in the second half and ended up only allowing them to score six goals. We ended up losing that game 18-3. Unfortunately our time in Florida went by too fast and we were headed back to cold Connecticut.
After a few days off our next game was at Mount Holyoke College. After a quick five goal lead in the start of the game we never looked back and kept the lead throughout the game. We ended up winning 17-11. Our next opponent would be Wellesley College. The first half we went goal for goal with Wellesley, but in the end they ended up beating us 16-10. This was a tough loss for us because we knew that we were better than we had played that day.
Next on our schedule was Keene State, and it would be our first conference game of the season. This was a very exciting and high intensity game. At the end of regulation time it was 13-13 which forced us into overtime. After two overtime periods the game was still tied at 14-14. Both teams wanted the win, but in the end it would come down to who wanted it more. The final overtime period would come down to sudden death. With the momentum going our way and our cheering fans, we were the first to score and beat Keene 15-14. This was a great way to start off our conference play.
