We kicked off our season at Babson College on March 3. Unfortunately, the cold weather and short warmup did not make the loss any easier on us. But we seemed to get our first game jitters out of the way. Our next opponent was Wesleyan University, which would be our first home game. This game was extremely exciting for our team because this was the closest we have ever been to beating a NESCAC team. At halftime we were trailing the Cardinals 7-1. In the second half we stepped up our game and outscored Wesleyan 7-3. Although we ended up losing 10-8, this definitely gave us positive motivation heading into our next game. Next up was Salve Regina. After a gaining a quick four- goal lead on Salve, our level of play seemed to drop and we found ourselves only being up by two goals at halftime. In the second half we both scored seven goals, and we were able to get our first win of the season. Our final game before leaving for Spring break was against Roger Williams. Although we put up a tough fight, we ended up losing 16-10.
This Friday we will be leaving for Spring break and travelling to Florida. The team could not be more excited. We are looking forward to the warm and sunny weather, playing a couple games, spending time at the parks, and some team bonding. When we return from spring break, our first game will be at Mount Holyoke on March 30.
Talk to you all after spring break!
