The Women's Indoor Track and Field Team competed at the University of Southern Maine for our conference championships on Saturday. Some of us are still recovering from the 3 and 1/2 hour bus ride each way and getting back to Eastern around 12:15 Sunday morning. Our legs were achy after the bus ride to USM and the day was long but we all managed to run our hardest, leaving everything on the track.
Many of us broke our personal bests at the meet such as sophomore Christine Charpentier in the 400, cutting a second of her previous PR. Many PR's were broken in the 3K: Senior Amanda Ericson took four seconds off her PR while freshman Haley Smith cut over 20 seconds off of hers! Very impressive! Even more exciting, junior Amanda Quinones not only also PR'd in the 3K by about 25 seconds but also broke the school record!
This coming Saturday, Cora Gingras, Lauren Hultzman, Amanda Quinones, as well as various other runners on relay teams, will be competing at MIT at the New England Division III Championships. Good luck, ladies!
