Hey all, Ashlee here again...
This past Saturday, the women's cross country team competed at Colt State Park in Bristol, RI at the ECAC Championship meet. It was an unusual meet as only five of our women competed. Also, the ECAC (and New England) meets are a 6k, unlike the normal 5K distance we have competed at all season.
Freshman Katie France led the way for us running her first ever 6K. She was followed by Cora Gingras, who was only 11 seconds behind. The other three runners who raced Saturday (in order of finish) were Haley Smith, Brittany Miskell and Wendy Bouton. This was the first 6k for freshmen Haley Smith and Wendy Bouton, as well.
Seven runners will compete at New England's this coming Saturday in Williamstown, MA. Those runners are seniors Melissa Healy and Amanda Ericson, junior Amanda Quinones, sophomores Cora Gingras and Denica Gagnon and France and freshman Alexa Palasky.
Look forward to a report in from Melissa Healy next week, as I will be taking Praxis 2 instead of attending the meet :(
GOOD LUCK LADIES!!!
