It has been a great learning experience for us these past two weeks.
We had a strong week leading up to the Westfield Invite (October 9) but it was a rough day for most, few running their best and leaving a lot to be desired. One highlight of the meet was Tim Callahan battling through what was later diagnosed as sports-induced asthma and finishing the race showing an immense amount of courage. We took the Westfield meet as motivation for our week of training and killed our thousand meter workout that week.
Everyone was excited and pumped for our annual home meet against our rival, Rhode Island College. We ran hard but fell five points short. It was excellent to see all our family members there to cheer us on. RIC will not escape us at the conference meet (October 30), and we are looking for all of our work during the season to pay off. RIC, along with the rest of the conference, better watch out.
We are excited for the end of the season and post-season meets. Another week of training awaits us this week, with an off weekend this weekend.
Talk to you all soon, stay classy Eastern.
