Willimantic Orchestra to Perform at Eastern

Willimantic Orchestra.jpgWillimantic, Conn. ¬¬- Eastern Connecticut State University's Performing Arts Department will host the Willimantic Orchestra on Oct. 28 at 3 p. m. in Shafer Auditorium. The public is invited. Admission is free, though a donation is encouraged. Shafer Auditorium is in Shafer Hall, located at Valley and High Streets in Willimantic.

The performance will feature pianist Benita Rose on piano, performing Berlioz's "March to the Scaffold" (fourth movement of Symphonie Fantastique) and Liszt's "Totentanz." Other pieces for the night include Mussorgsky's "Night on Bald Mountain"; Gounod's "Funeral March of a Marionette"; and Bernard Hermann's "Psycho Prelude." David Vaughan, part-time professor of performing arts, will conduct the orchestra.
