Willimantic, CT - David Yosifon, assistant professor of law at Santa Clara University School of Law, will speak at Eastern Connecticut State University's University Hour Series from 3- 4 p. m. on Oct. 3 in Room 104 of the Science Building. The public is invited. Admission is free.
Yosifon's presentation "Corporate Speech and the Future of American Democracy," will discuss the effects of the decision of the 2010 case of "Citizens United vs. Federal Elections Commission," where the Supreme Court ruled that the first amendment forbids government from restricting the political speech of corporations.
Yosifon has served as a law clerk to Patti Saris of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and a litigation associate at the Boston firm of Ropes & Gray, LLP.
