Willimantic, Conn. - Eastern Connecticut State University is looking for volunteers to help with the Interschool Walk for Warmth from noon to 5 p.m. on Oct. 25 on the Windham Middle School track. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness about poverty. The public is invited to participate. Transportation for Eastern students will be provided.
The event is being organized by Windham Middle School students. During their after-school programs and classes, students are reminding local residents about the rise of poverty in Connecticut and the United States by participating in a marathon and playing educational games. Volunteers are needed to assist in activities and setting up tables and booths.
If you are interested in being on the planning committee or volunteering on the day of the event, contact Jacqui De Cormier at email@example.com.
