Willimantic, Conn.-- Eastern Connecticut State University will host a debate between the candidates for Connecticut's Second Congressional District on Monday, Oct. 22 from 7:30-9 p.m. in the Betty R. Tipton Room of the Student Center. The debate is being sponsored by The (Norwich) Bulletin. The public is invited. Admission is free.
All of the candidates currently on the ballot-- Democratic candidate and incumbent Congressman Joe Courtney; Green Party candidate Colin Brolin; Republican candidate Paul Formica; and Libertarian candidate Dan Reale will participate in the debate.
The debate is expected to focus on educational issues that concern students and other issues of importance this election year. Opinion Editor Ray Hackett of The Bulletin will serve as the moderator. Radio Station WJJF, 94.9 FM will broadcast the debate live, and the Connecticut Television Network (CT-N) will tape and rebroadcast the debate.
