Willimantic, Conn. - United Voices of Praise (UVOP), Eastern Connecticut State University's 65-member gospel choir, will present its 11th annual Winter Gospel Concert on Dec. 12 at 5 p.m. in Shafer Auditorium.  The public is invited. Admission is $5.

The concert, "Sounds of Praise in Connecticut," is directed by UVOP Founder Paul Cameron and showcases three choirs and 145 voices. Nevel Lendor of Hartford and Michele Clay of Middletown will serve as Master and Mistress of Ceremonies.

Two other two choir groups performing include the 89-member Genesis Choir from Faith SDA Church in Hartford and the 48-member Unity Choir from Cross Street AME Zion Church in Middletown.

The performance will include such gospel classics such as "Soul'd Out" by Hezekiah Walker; "My Name is Victory" by  Jonathan Nelson and Purpose; the Chicago Mass Choir's "God Is My Everything"; and "As Long as You are There" by Donnie McClurkin; and others.  Eastern's "Praise Dancers," who are student members of the gospel choir, will also perform, as will well known Connecticut guitarist and singer Gary Ness.

For more information, call Cameron at (860) 881-3666 or e-mail paulpreciouscam@aol.com.
