Willimantic, Conn. - The Campus Police Department at Eastern Connecticut State University will celebrate National Police Officers Week from May 10 to May 16, in tribute to the federal, state, and municipal officers who have been killed or disabled in the line of duty. On May 10, the Police Department placed a black banner on the sign in front of police headquarters, and at 7:30 a.m. on May 15, National Peace Officer's Memorial Day, police officers will place a wreath in front of the sign. During the ceremony, officers will wear black bands over their badges in respect to their fallen comrades.
