Toy collection had decreased during this year's Three Kings Day campaign due to a depressed economy. Realizing the campaign needed help, athletes on Eastern's field hockey and women's lacrosse teams pitched in during two women's basketball games and a men's basketball game, encouraging fellow athletes, parents and Eastern faculty and staff to donate a new unwrapped toy for charities. The effort paid off, as the teams collected nearly 50 toys to donate to local charities; another $250 worth of toys from the ECSU Foundation; and nearly $400 in cash.
